No. I know who I am and I know what I do. I don’t care that everyone thinks I’m the grandmother.

The parents complaining about the “park nannies” couldn’t afford me anyway.

Yes! Yes. I have my degree in ECE, years of teaching experience, and wear an Apple Watch for emergencies and never take my phone out of my bag. I’m also a white American ALWAYS thought to be my charges’s mother.

I work hard for my charges and hate the blanket comments that posters would never hire a nanny based on seeing them in the park. They don’t see me!

Yes, it definitely annoys me. DCUM seems to feel if you aren’t foreign-born, you aren’t a nanny. I am always assumed to be my charge’s mother.

I’m so sick of seeing parents here blast all nannies for being on their phones or talking only to each other and ignoring their charges in parks. Yes, I see them too but it’s not even close to half the nannies I know. Parents don’t seem to realize that the engaged women they assume are mothers or grandmothers are actually nannies.

Just bugs me.
