Yep. If it had been my family, it would have been nbd.

Really hard on the three kids.

And the nanny is stuck being basically a single parent to three very young kids for three straight weeks without being able to even go home and water her plants.

I really feel bad for the nanny and the little kids!

They would pay me $2,500,/day for extra 14 days (and I would insist on a text agreement which is sufficient in court when they try to reneg) or they would get grandparents or another nanny. It is outrageous for these people to expect her to take care of these kids for 20 days.

Geez, what if the nanny couldn’t stay for the extra 14 days?! The parents were completely irresponsible.

Hmm. Quarantining in place at a ski resort.

Yep, boring place since they’re going to have to stay in their room the whole time. If they’re smart, they’ll get separate rooms and one can go home as soon as they’re 10 days from onset of symptoms and symptom-free.

I was ten with younger siblings when my parents went to California for two days and we were home with our live-out nanny. My parents were scheduled to fly home on the afternoon of September 11, 2001 when all the flights were cancelled. They rented a car at the airport and drove across the country in something like four days.

Luckily, we loved our nanny (still do) and she kept us away from TV and other people who might have scared us. Nanny was away from her own family during that time too and although a third of the time of OP’s nanny, it was a very sad time when I’m sure nanny wanted to be with her family.

I love her for that. Honestly.

That’s very hard and very lonely for the nanny. Poor little kids, too.

Who knows how long they are going to have symptoms. NP here and I’m ready the nanny could drive the kids to her place but what a hassle if she lives far away.

Poor nanny! If she had any plans for those two weeks and beyond, they’re shot. And it’s exhausting doing it alone as well as lonely if she’s away from her own family and husband.

Geez, that poor nanny! Parents were idiots for traveling during a covid surge for a vacation. I wonder if they got to stay in their room at the ski resort? Expensive mistake.
