Hard pass, but I wouldn't have hired a nanny that wanted to bring a six-month old either. I like childless nannies.

I disagree. I think it’s a typical daycare mom.

It’s just for today due to a daycare closure. I normally would be very opposed but my 2.5 year old shrieked with joy to have a playmate. He is so happy right now … so I’m ok with it. She’s going to take them to the playground or zoo later today and they will play hard, so I’m ok with it once in a while.
once in a while would be fine. Not permanently though.

If OP thinks it’s working out for HER children, she should do what she wants.

Jesus, OP, of course it’s fine for the BABYSITTER (not nanny) to bring her older kid for ONE DAY.

Try to bring up important details in your next post. Obviously everyone thought she was a nanny asking to bring two children every day.

So why are you doing a big deal about it? If you are ok with it once in a while, why you are making such a big drama? If you respond already yourself. People here thought you were asking this question saying she wants now bring her 2 sons permanently to the new position offered.

I generally lean towards a try it out approach, but I’d say a hard no on this one, OP. The woman seems dishonest since she didn’t ask you up front about bringing both children.

No! Absolutely not. If you need the reduced rate, OP, join a nanny share its a child your child’s age.

Absolutely no way. It was a lapse in judgment to let her bring her 6 month old, it would be unconscionable to subject your 2 year old to two of her kids.

I wouldn’t do it. That’s a big age difference. How will nap time be managed, will she be able to get your child related tasks done? Is she offering a reduced rate? I’d think long and hard about it.

Just to clarify, I am the employer and she is the employee. I am hiring a nanny for one child. I was ok with her bringing her baby since he’s so portable and naps twice per day, but now she wants to bring her 5 y/o and I’m on the fence about it.

Don’t walk RUN - a nanny that sees another nanny about to take you for a ride

I am trialing a new nanny this week who has a young baby with her (6 months), except she has now asked if she can bring her older son too. I have one child who is 2 years old. Im wondering from other families how this has worked for them?
