Thanks for this thread! I went back and looked up the day I interviewed with my now seven-year-old charge and parents because of this thread. I knew my anniversary date but never thought to celebrate the first time I held my little guy. It’s in a week and a half and he and I are going to do something special. With the next two siblings, I saw them on the days they were born. My first charge was six weeks old when I first met him and held him.

Lovely idea. Like a “Got You Day” got adopted kids (me from China) that my parents and I always celebrate.

We just passed our three year mark with our wonderful nanny. I hope she feels this way! My kids run to her in the morning and love her to bits! So do we.

Three years ago today I held my then newborn charge and sat down for an interview with my employers. I was offered the position that evening and accepted. I started two weeks later. This is, hands down, the best job I’ve ever had. I can walk to work, am well paid and respected, and, although the mother always works from home and since covid the dad works from home, it all works and we get along great. Since starting with them they have had a second child. The children are the loves of my life! The children are beautiful and brilliantly.

I am just so grateful and happy!
