If A holiday falls on a Saturday, Friday is holiday. You would pay me OT.

Yes and same for the next holidays. 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year's Day fall on Sunday. So Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2 are holidays.

Hope you were smart enough to charge overtime rates for legal holidays.

Nope, my contract is 24/7. But I know exactly what I’m worth, and I get it

Wishing simply doesn’t make it so. If it’s not in your contract, you don’t have a leg to stand on.

Is it a holiday for nannies?

Legally, no. Sorry, OP. I hope you got it off anyway.

Hourly employees who work NYE or NYD should charge time and a half, imo.

We sent our nanny home from December 23rd for the rest of the year. They are to come back January 3rd. Dh and I have been working but our kids are elementary school age and we just send them to amuse themselves and hope for the best. The nanny really needed a break.

Per OPM the holiday is observed tomorrow December 31, because it falls on a weekend. You should be off tomorrow OP with pay.

I’ve been off all week but offered to stay with my charges on New Year’s Eve.

There is no official holiday when Christmas and New Years Day fall on a weekend but most employers give the Friday or Monday off. But they are not required to.
