It’s so the first run check is a dummy check to make sure the information given and the information entered into the system used is correct and the money goes to the correct place. So if you’re paid weekly it’s one week behind so they can run that “dummy” check to make sure everything is correct
LOL. Your payroll company is collecting interest while the nanny’s pay is delayed. If you only need to verify information, you could get a $1.00 check as soon as you sign up your new client. Electronic banking does not take 14 days. While it’s currently legal, this practice is grossly unethical.
This is why I simply tell parents I expect my paycheck immediately after I have completed each week of work. Or they’ll have to find someone else. So far it’s worked out for me.
