My car is set up for my charges. Two seats in the back which are there permanently. I don’t expect extra money beyond IRS mileage. I knew going into this job driving was expected.

That's right. Asking a nanny to provide her own car to work might be a deal breaker for single nanny who doesn't even have kids of her own. She will be using her car; wear and tear and mileage for driving other's kids. Not even hers. Parents should be very aware of this and paying nanny what nanny deserves. Most of nannies look for jobs with they are not requiere even driving.

I am just sharing that wear and tear does not assume young child(ren) will be in the personal vehicle of someone that would otherwise not have children in their car. I've been a nanny for 20 years and have had a child throw up in my car, a handful of pee accidents, care seats leave dents or marks on my seats.

The IRS rate takes both gas and wear into account.

Be nice mom and be fair. She will driving your kids in her own car. All Parents should be responsible to provide a car for the nanny. They don't even realize the wear and tear, mileage and gas. You don’t need to pay for detailing . That’s a nanny scam way to get more money out of you . Just do the irs reimbursement per mile .

In addition to the IRS rate (as well as the paid detailing), also do not forget to include the Nanny’s hourly rate on top of all that as well.

I just hired a new nanny who will be driving my kids in her own car. What is the rate per mile (that includes both gas and wear and tear on the car) that I should be paying? I want to pay her fairly, but also don't want to spend a lot of time figuring out how much to pay her. Hopefully someone out there knows and easy way to answer this?
