I think it is best to write back everyone (if possible) who takes the time to respond to your job posting.
It is best to be vague since going into specific detail would serve no purpose.
Just respond that they do not appear to be a suitable match for your current needs & wish them well w/their job search!

Exactly the same from the nanny side. There is absolutely no point in being honest. I just thank the parent for their interest and say I’m not available at this time. I then wish them the best in finding the perfect nanny.

I get a lot of messages for jobs that make it clear the person is not the right fit. I tend to respond thanking them for the message and that my needs are different at the moment but I don't outright tell applicants I'm not interested. Should I be blunt? Should I respond at all? Please help me navigate the etiquette rules of online job boards! TIA
