It's her Job to find a new job. You can help by giving a positive reference, and spreading the word about how awesome she is. In the end it is up to her.

I'm looking for a nanny and would very much appreciate a previous employer's recommendation. We are in Dupont. What's the best way to get in touch?

Neighborhood listservs and word of mouth. I'm surprised other people haven't asked her - when my nanny job was ending, I had several families offer me employment.

Have her sign with an agency and write a great profile for care.com. Also have her list herself on your neighborhood listservr.

You shouldn’t be doing anything, OP, and certainly nothing visible. You don’t want potential employers to think she’s an idiot. Yes

Our son started school and we no longer need a full-time nanny. Our son’s nanny has been with us for 5+ years and we are looking to find her a new home. What are the best ways in DC to do this? Thanks!
