My nanny does this now. She lives nearby and walks to work. We pay overtime etc. Her own family is grown so she has "no rush" so to speak. I know some days are more tiring than others but so far she is happy with the pay etc.

Are you sure about this long schedule? I can tell you that you will feel tired and without enough energy to give your %100 next day. And say bye to your social life. Since your wknds will be only for laundry, errands, cleaning etc.

Use your breaks at work wisely and do what refreshes you (not the phone). I used to do meditation and deep breathing.

It doable, the money is great, but you need to readjust your life. I worked 7 to 7 and was in bed by 8:30 (my phone off at 8 and in the other room) and got up at 5. I had five shirts and five pairs of pants hung up and ready. I had my dinners planned on Sunday and very simple.

Far too many hours and you will be burned out in less than a month. Crappy parents as only you are with their child during waking hours. Do no take this job.

As a live-in, absolutely, and she's had days which were longer. As a live-out, you need to factor in what your commute would be (likely shorter in the evening).

I didn’t mind the long days but I was allowed to run errands with the kids if I needed to. If you are allowed to go to the grocery store or Target with the baby I say go for it. Are they both out of the house that long? I’d be more worried they want you working while they are at home…….

I will ask about errands but they said they didn’t mind if I took the baby to park. The dad travels a lot for work and goes to an office about an hour away a couple times a week. Mom does interior design and has her own office nearby. I believe she rents and apartment? Not sure but she said they’d both be home by 7 but like you, said 8-8 I’m assuming so they’re never late

Very doable if you’re getting paid overtime with benefits and working for a good family.

60 hours were my normal hours until I got married and then I cut them down to 40. I found it enjoyable and not too tiring if I had a good sleep schedule and kiddos weren’t the type to drain you of all joy and energy.

If you currently work til 6, for example, think about what you do from 6-8 that will need adjusting.
-Gym time
-Grocery shopping
-Misc. errands
-Cleaning
-Time with friends

I do gym and cleaning. I have lost 30 pounds and need to lose at least 30. But the OT pay is looking amazing

They are giving me OT after 8 hours a day and after 40 hours a week.
