Oh. And I bought two boxes of home kits for her to have so that she could do home test if she ever worried.

We started employment during Covid but before vaccine. We did
1. Everyone vaccinated once eligible
2. Anyone with symptoms tests and stays isolated until negative test (we had her stay home three times because one kid had a sniffle.or fever and we were waiting for test results) she came back the next day once we got the negative.
3. Asked her to be responsible and limit large gatherings / unvaccinated folks due to risk to our kids. We follow that same limitation.
4. If anyone was positive, quarantine everyone. No contact back until the positive person is symptom free and negative.
5. Masks for everyone at the playground / park if others are around. If we are the only people, no masks is fine (yes, even outside)
6. Time for quarantine / being home waiting for test result is paid time and not included in her PTO / Sick time allotment.
7. I always call and let her know if someone in the house has a sniffle, cough, sore throat, fever but negative test..always give her the option to not work until person is better (parent stays home with sick kid but she has the other two). She has never taken us up on staying home but always have the option

I echo the above: full paid time off for two full weeks. The last thing you want if for your nanny to show up if she had a positive covid test because she needs the money and is out of vacation/sick days. You also need to pay for all her covid tests. If you, DP, or kids test positive, the same thing applies - Nanny stays home.

Nanny stays home for quarantine if she or anyone in our home tests positive for covid. Nanny is paid her full salary and it’s not a part of her PTO or vacation time. Covid quarantining is separate and an exception.

How do you handle COVID issues in your contract, eg if parents, nanny, or any of the kids get COVID or have to quarantine? Curious how folks are handling this...
