From the nanny side, not so much. I'm getting too many emails about positions that don't fit my profile at all, and the company is difficult to contact and get a response.

Call Susan at NannyPoppinz. As soon as you sign the contract, she'll make sure you get set up with interviews.

I’m surprised you haven’t heard back from WHN. I am a nanny and have been placed with them in long term positions more than once. I am tentatively looking for a job now outside of them though because I would like to bring my baby with me to my next position. Baby will be about the same age as yours this winter. Let me know if you’d want to chat.

We are starting to look for a nanny but don’t need anyone until December. I understand we are a bit early so might be willing to pay a retainer for the right candidate until then. Baby will be six months old, and we will continue to WFH (which I know is a dealbreaker for some nannies). We are currently paying our overnight newborn care specialist $34/hour and would be fine continuing to pay that for a nanny, but at that rate we would want an experienced and qualified nanny. Are we best served by using one of the agencies or advertising here and on neighborhood boards (in Bethesda)? I understand that one of the benefits of an agency is that they can send backup care if the nanny is ill or during her/his vacation time, which is appealing, but we haven’t heard back from White House Nannies after our initial inquiry a few weeks ago. Thanks!
