Hard to say without knowing more.
Is pay on the high end of the scale now? low end? mid-range?
How many hours? Guaranteed OT?
What perks are offered?

Agree that although preschool is 9-12, once you factor in drop off and pick up it's more like nanny has one child from 9:30-11:30.

Your nanny deserved more. You know from weekends how much harder two under three years of age is. And there are (most likely) two of you around on weekends.

And preschool causes more laundry (at least one extra outfit a day). And more clean up.

I’m a SAHM right now and the second baby IS SO MUCH MORE WORK. Nannies really deserve more for the second child,

By the time you factor in the time get back from dropoff and then packing up and going to pick up, it's closer to 2 or 2.5 hours.

Preschool makes zero difference, OP. It’ll be great to let the nanny have one-on-one time with the baby for those three hours but it’s still a huge amount of work and responsibility.

I’d say $3 an hour.

I think $2 or $3 is average. $1 really isn’t enough as you’ll soon learn when you have both - preschool or not. It’s a sh*tload of work and responsibility. And it changes everything!

OP here, by 9-12 I meant her preschool will be from 9am- 12pm 4x/week.

My 2 year old DC will be going to preschool (9-12) in early September and I will be giving birth to DC #2 in early October. We are going to be increasing our nanny's pay at that time, because she will need to manage another child (I have some maternity leave and will be taking care of DC2 during my maternity leave, but we are going to increase our nanny's pay when the baby is born).
