Subject: Driver’s license
Just went through this - the rules vary by state. In DC you cannot, in MD you can. Does she still have a valid international license?

Is she coming to the US as a tourist soon? Where will she be visiting? Can she just take public transportation/uber?

Our previous au pair’s j1 visa just expired resulting in her driver’s license expiring too. She has applied for a tourist visa but has not received it yet. Do you all know if individuals waiting on the tourist/student visa processing can obtain driver’s licenses?
