I think age of the driver created the higher expense. When we added 40 yo nanny could barely see a difference in insurance.

Not in DC. All foreign drivers are considered "new" drivers when they get a DC license. For us, it was about an extra 1500 a year.

I've found there is some correlation to the age of the AP and how long she has been driving - the older/the longer, the lower the cost.

How much did adding an AP to your policy increase your premium? Mine went up $390 per six months, and I just got a notice that my umbrella insurance went up $200 as well. Wondering if this ($1,000 a year) is about a normal budget for this. Our two cars aren't great or anything. She's still on international license - will getting her state licensed (we are working on it) help? They sort of said it would but were very vague. Thanks.
