This is our first time hiring a nanny and we want to do it right! Can someone help me navigate how I can get an unemployment insurance tax ID? We registered for one but it is still in-process. When I called the Dept of Labor help desk they said I could go to the Beacon Portal and apply for one instantly. When I visited it looked like it was for the employee to register for unemployment. What am I misunderstanding?

Has anyone successfully registered for an unemployment insurance tax ID through the MD Dept of Labor Beacon Portal? Would you be so kind as to point me in the right direction?
