Can't really stop them if they make their appointment for themselves. And if you do try to stop them they may demand a rematch b/c all of their friends are getting the vaccines. And they you will be stuck with no childcare while trying to work.

APs are no more child care providers than parents. They are young and most likely don't have major medical issues. It's absurd they are being prioritized over restaurant workers, mail carriers, etc.
And the ones cheating the system whose host parents are shrugging their shoulders...shame on all of you.

Roll your eyes all you want, but why should our taxes pay for a non-citizen's medical treatment? Alternatively, are you willing to pay for your AP's vaccine?

I don’t think they should have been priority. However, they do pay taxes. Ask your buddy trump how much he has paid. I bet your Au pair pays more

Trump is not my buddy, but my kids are, who are going to have to pay for all this one day.

Childcare providers are eligible to sign up on DC as well. Our AP's friend just got the email allowing her to schedule her appointiment. In DC a certain percentage of random spots go to people in eligible work forces.

Has anyone else run into this ask from your Au pair? Do any implications come back to us as the employers?

If she went to a bar and ordered a drink which was brought to her even though she was 20 and not 21, would it be your problem? No.
Our aupair is vaccinated. I didn't go into asking how or why. Childcare is an eligible group and Cultural Care emailed her a letter to take for NoVa.
I'm happy I don't have to wonder if she's staying 6ft away from anyone anymore. It's a ton of weight lifted.

Yes, our au pair and several of her friends got vaccinated in Fairfax. I didn’t see the forms and was completely uninvolved, so I don’t know exactly what the story is, all I know is she said she filled out all the forms and showed them the paperwork and no one asked any questions.

Well, my law firm is full of attorneys who work remotely from Annapolis, Haymarket, etc. (just two attorneys who live in DC), and we can work remotely as long as we want, and our building management sent out an email to hundreds of tenants (mostly law firms), saying anyone who works for a DC law firm can get vaccinated in DC. That’s bananas. But if rich and privileged are taking DC vaccines, I don’t feel bad about poor Au pairs getting the vaccine.
