I talked with them they are not helpful at all. They said their homeowners don’t have insurance like that. They are renting.
I did mistake in hospital not tell where I got hurt.
I think I have to move on. I am already in physical pain not want more stress

It doesn’t matter if you were paid in cash but it does matter if your employer has workman’s comp coverage. Ask them. Also check the regulations in your state. You may qualify in some states as a part-time domestic worker but not in others.

Your other alternatives are filing a claim under their homeowner’s policy like anyone else who was injured in their home and, lastly, hiring a lawyer and suing them. You will need to ask your employer about filing a claim under their homeowner’s policy. Preserve all your evidence and get going. Time is of essence.

I have all communication that they hired me for long term. So it was not one day babysitting.

She’s getting paid under the table. Even if she claimed income, it was her first day and the family could just say she was babysitting and they more than likely would since the could give two **** on whether she was ok or not.

My bad luck I was cleaning the toys I meant putting them away before I leave then suddenly I slipped in stairs .
Never happened before and working as nanny more then 6 years.

What did you slip on that caused you to break ribs ?

Unfortunately there’s nothing you can do. How long ago was your previous job- was it on the books? If it was and not too long ago, maybe file for unemployment? This is why you should get paid on the books and have a contract. Get well soon!

First day of work and I slipped at work .
I had bad pain the family didn’t help me. I drove to ER by myself and was dizzy.
I told at hospital that I slipped at home didn’t mention at work. Didn’t want any problem for my employer.
Now I am in bed rest for weeks so.
My fault I was agree to get paid cash since it was part time long term job .
The family didn’t ask how I am doing they just Venmo and paid me for that day.
Has anyone experienced that kind of situation?
Any information will be helpful.
If I can get any assistance till I will heal.
