We are in Silver Spring MD, and we pay $28.50 for a nanny share of three children, 4, 5 months and 2 year old. She has over 10 years of experience.

What area is this? I was able to find a fulltime nanny in my NOVA suburb for $21/hr fulltime. The commute is short for her though so that may have been a factor.

This is the current range in this area.

During covid, when everyone wants a nanny, absolutely $25+. It’ll likely drop once things go back to “normal.” Supply and demand: everyone wants an experienced nanny right now, and there are more positions than experienced nannies.

I just went through the search for a toddler and newborn and if you can find even a warm body for $20 an hour, please let us know how!

Our nanny has an unrelated college degree and five years of nanny experience and started at $27 an hour (legal). We couldn’t even find anyone to interview at $20 to $25.

For a newborn and toddler, $23-25 at minimum and that’s with general care; no cooking or laundry.

I don't think $25-35 is realistic. More like $18-20.

$20-$22.

Lol good luck finding a nanny who won't just leave for a better paying job within 2 months at that rate!

I think $22-29/hr is the correct pay scale here, depending on nannies experience, benefits offered, etc.

Are the parents sah, wah, or woh? If sah or wah, would you be given free rein to design the day, is the parent a micromanager, or is it somewhere in between? How many times will the parent come in and disrupt the day?

Are there any special needs?

Is the 2yo in preschool or starting next fall?

How many chores are included, are they child-related, and what frequency is expected?

Are you expected to design a learning plan/curriculum? Are you expected to entertain constantly?

How much education do you have? How much experience?

Where is the position?
