We usually take our nanny out to dinner at a place of her choosing and give her flowers, presents and cake there. This year we ordered dinner to be delivered and had the party at home. Our nanny likes clothing, designer purses and electronics so we usually get her those items as birthday gifts.

We celebrate the nanny's b'day yes. Often I'll make a nice breakfast and we'll all eat together when she gets there. Or sometimes I'll make a cake, or chocolate dipped strawberries, or something.

We get her presents. Gift certificates to her favorite salon or restaurant, a spa day, pampering gifts like lotions or perfume, etc... And sometimes (though not always or a given) a half day off.

A day off would be the perfect gift for me

Nannies tend to be tired with the numerous hours so that extra time off is really welcome.

Another idea I like : anything to pamper myself and relax.

I am a Nanny & I have always received something for my birthdays.

It could range from a homemade birthday cake, cupcakes, a scented candle, a handmade card from the kids (if old enough!) + a gift card.

It doesn’t have to be expensive - even a bouquet of flowers is appreciated.

It just feels good for me to feel acknowledged as well as appreciated for what I do.

The kids made cards, a crown and cupcakes, we put out the heart-shaped plate for the nanny, and gave four tickets to box seats at a baseball game (obviously pre-Covid).

My nanny family has gifted me a very generous gift card to a favorite store the last few years (which is SOOO appreciated) and bought me lunch/dinner. My nanny family last year before COVID, hosted a small gathering with my favorite food as dinner and a game night. But we were very close.

this is sweet: a day off, visa gift card or spa treatment to prevent burnout are top 3 (as an NCS and Private Educator, trust me lol)
