Considering you are expecting a baby, I would not put my health in jeopardy.

If they are not being careful, then it is not worth risking your health & that of your future child’s.

OP did you plan to quit your job after your baby is born? Or did your current family agree to let you bring your baby to work with you?

All nannies and employers should have updated their contracts when covid hit, but in all honesty, no one knew it was going to be this bad or last this long. And no one could have really for seen how easily fatigued people would get with the isolation.

I feel so fortunate that my employers are on the same exact page with protocols and get along so well.

My advice is to get a new job. Now you can make your joint conditions perfectly clear and proceed until there is a widespread vaccine.

Curious - did you talk about protocol or prevention when you took the job or when COVID hit? We made sure to put things in our contract, so if you did you *might* have a breech of contract case. But honestly they have shown you their colors. Talking to them might change it but most likely they will just be quieter about their activities. Quitting might be your best option

No. My boss has had plastic surgery, Thanksgiving and other giant gatherings. But she’s selfish, so I don’t expect this of her. She’s in for a surprise though, when we all get covid. My state gives 2 weeks paid and I won’t be coming in.

Not that I’m aware of. But it seems to me you could still claim unemployment due to your circumstance even if you voluntarily leave.

Aside from quitting, is there anything a nanny can do if she feels unsafe about her work environment due to covid? My husband and I have been EXTREMELY safe and conservative with covid exposure, as I am pregnant. My nanny family on the other hand...not so much. I have become uncomfortable with the increasing amount of travel/activities/indoor experiences/gatherings/etc. I obviously plan to say something, but I was just wondering if I have a leg to stand on here from an employment standpoint?

Appreciate any advice.
