I am thinking if your Nanny has guaranteed hours, then she should be paid for Thursday (Thanksgiving).

PP is correct if the nanny will have Wednesday off next week. If you were having the nanny work M, Tu, W and F next week with Thanksgiving off even though she usually works Thursdays then she could reasonably expect PTO for Thursday. As it is, there's no reason to double pay for the PTO day.

She will work Monday, Tuesday and Friday, for a total of 24 worked hours. Thursday is off, paid. Total paid hours remain 32.

Hi All- My brain is totally fried right now and I can't tell if I'm over thinking or under thinking pay for next week, but I just don't think I'm doing it right!

My nanny is guaranteed 32 hours a week ( right now its 4 eight hour days typically). She does not work Wednesdays. She has Thursday off as a paid Holiday. Next week, am I paying her all 5 days (32 hours +Thanksgiving as paid)? Or is it just the 32 hours paid, and not an extra day she doesn't work anyway?

Thanks for your thoughts, and non-judgmental thoughts....I want to pay her what she's owed and do it correctly, I'm just out of brain cells to figure out what that is
