+4 I live in an area where there is a large Hispanic/Latino demographic & I have noticed that they do not typically wear masks when socializing nor do they social distance.
Not a racist statement at all...it could be cultural.

I agree that you will have much better luck if you hire an older Nanny.
Younger people tend to socialize much more as well as throw caution to the wind.

Everyone needs to be on the same page. Since your family won’t be wearing a mask, it’s reasonable to expect the nanny to mask for her probation only (up to 2 weeks).

Agree with older nanny. I’m 45 and haven’t gone anywhere except work since March. Younger nannies aren’t willing to make this sacrifice. I world tour have, when I was young.

Hire an older nanny (reason to be safe for her own welfare) who lives alone and is educated to understand risks and best practices.

We had a long talk with our nanny about all the things we were doing to social distance . We asked her to do the same for the safety of our kids and she agreed . It wouldn’t be unreasonable to ask her to wear a mask if you all do the same . Frequent Hand washing is important but any nanny should know that !

Hi everyone, nervous FTM here so please bear with me. We're starting a search for our son's first nanny. He was born in early April and we've been incredibly cautious/risk averse since then (only outdoor socializing at a distance, no indoor shopping/haircuts, etc). Any tips for feeling less anxious about bringing another person into our "bubble" to care for our son or ways to ensure everyone feels safe? Is it crazy to ask the nanny to wear a mask at our home (if we would do the same?). We'll all be working from home in a small house.
