Subject: 6 month old only cries with nanny
Oh lord ... the baby is 6 months old. He has no idea who is at the house! Please ... OP, if it’s been few weeks you should try a different nanny. I’m a nanny and a mother of 2 (Both under the age of 5). I would never let my baby cry all day! Period.

When the Nanny is caring for your son - do you or your spouse ever take a break to come in & say Hello and/or play w/your son?
Or do you both stay out of sight for the duration of the Nanny’s shift??
Because if your baby knows that you two are still home >>> he may be continuously crying knowing that you both are nearby.

It's your fault. One of you quits your job and holds baby. The nanny find a better job with same parents.

With my first child (she was very attached to me ) she cried nonstop when we did a trial with this one nanny . We did a trial with a different nanny and she cried a little but then was happy . Sometimes babies have a sense about people lol . Did your Little one cry when the nanny interviewed with you ? You may want to consider a switch if it continues despite giving them a few days of bonding time .

Kids cannot be too attached to their parents. Maybe its not a good fit.

Your baby isn’t stupid, OP. He know when nanny comes - you leave.
I echo the above. Say goodbye and stay far away for eight hours. No visits.

Give it more time and stay completely away when the nanny is there. I mean, completely away. Say goodbye to the baby, tell him he’s safe with the nanny and stay far away. Do not let the baby see you at all. Let them bond for a few weeks - them you can loosen it up.
If you can’t stay away, your situation will never get better and you’ll continue to cause your baby undue stress.

As I mentioned, our sin does NOT cry with others, just the nanny. He is fine with family or strangers whether we are there or not there.
