I am an ncs. I’m actually on a job right now 12 overnights/7 days a week for a 4 month job. I’m on week 3. My next job is set already (obviously varies on if baby is early) 6 weeks after this ones ends.

The lowest I’ve been paid for a 12 hr position is $600/day.

There are great NCS trainings out there. Someone mentioned newborn care solutions— that’s where I got my basic, advanced and elite ncs certs. They are the only one who is certified and CACHE approved.

If you can hustle and sell your work you’ll be ok. It’s a lot of making sure you know when your next job is.
I also don’t limit myself to one location. My current position is in Montana and my next is in Arizona. I’m from Los Angeles (that where my home is). After the next job I’ll take about 4-6 month off (unless a really great one comes along). But I like my extended breaks to recoup

Yes. I think working through an agency made a big difference. I always had as much work as I wanted.

Yes, I had no trouble filling full-time hours and my share of the like $25+ that the families paid was like $22ph IIRC? But make sure to set aside for taxes since you are an independent contractor!!!

To clarify, my lowest rate was $22. I often made more since I did a lot of twins and my daytime rate was also lower than my nighttime rate and most of my work was night time.

OP here and I spoke with a person from one of the local agencies and this person recommended the Newborn Care Institute and I think a woman named Tanya is the instructor. I looked it all up and it seemed very legit. I've been a regular daytime nanny for twenty years and I am looking to make some changes. I like to crowdsource with other nannies.
