As a nanny, I prefer homework solutions, but I have no idea how their pricing compares. One employee used their free calculator to write checks with the right breakdown and printed the page to use as a paystub. The rest paid for the service. The amount of information on their site is amazing and completely free and accessible to everyone. They support just about every national nanny networking opportunity, even the smaller ones like Nannypalooza. Unlike some other companies, they are used to calls about associated issues related to household employees and Ofer advice/information, even when not related to paying your employee.

Any other thoughts on this? We just agreed to hire a nanny for the first time, and need a platform for payroll/taxes/insurance. Seems like Poppins, Care.com, GTM are mentioned here. Do they have reputations that distinguish them from each other? How would you choose? Thanks!

We use Poppins, and I like it (though I have never used another software so don’t have a benchmark). So far it seems very seamless...we started using it in February. I was previously in a share, and we both used Poppins, though it’s just because we decided to use the same software not because it had any other advantages. The one thing I don’t like is I don’t know when pay stub notifications are sent to the nanny. My nanny share nanny kept saying she wasn’t getting them, and there was no way for me to check nor notifications sent to me. Turns out she was getting them and wasn’t closely looking in her email, but I spent a couple months printing them for her.

Looking for honest feedback on Poppins payroll from both nanny and family perspective? It seems to be a good option but also significantly cheaper than most others so curious if there are features missing.

Also, interested in any feedback for those who do nanny share - is it easier if both families use the same payroll service? I’m assuming it doesn’t matter since both families are separate employers.
