She can literally turn any household item into a fun or educational activity. The things she puts together from crap we have laying around amazes me. And it totally keeps the kids stimulated and entertained

I am a personal trainer and I go to house of many clients. The housekeeper is one person and the nanny is another.

--Prepares and brings a dish that is one of his favorites and that we don't cook.

--Gets my boys outside a LOT, which is even more appreciated than ever.

She is exceedingly reliable and honest, and has a deeply kind soul.

I've had a couple of nannies over the years and each of them has had great strengths and a couple of more challenging things to manage.

Other things I've valued hugely over the years:
- being an excellent cook. We had one nanny who just loved to cook and sometimes would make us dinner. It was always a big treat and it helped our kids become great/flexible eaters.
- boundless energy. We had one very young nanny (which presented challenges on many fronts) who could totally keep up w/ our kids, run them ragged, always be high energy and perky, etc... That was fantastic.
- we had one nanny for just a month (to fill in for the permanent nanny's extended vacation) who had homeschooled her 6 kids. Watching how she just naturally taught the kids was great.
- one of our nannies was Venezuelan and taught our kids a ton of spanish.

On how many different threads do you intend to post this list with your poor child coming in at #3?

+1. Teaching my kids. No question. Nanny has a skill set that neither DH nor I possess. And she does it all so effortlessly and in a way my kids love. She’s been our nanny for 4.5 years and my oldest has been reading (thanks to nanny) for nearly a year. And nanny has always made a point of using a new vocabulary word every day with them. She always has projects planned and has limitless energy.

And she loves them so much!

What is something that your nanny does that you super appreciate? Or something that makes her a rockstar nanny?
