+1. To actually teach my child, my nanny has her degree in Early Childhood Development and a skill set as a teacher that neither DH nor I have. Yes, we teach our children hopefully all th
eir lives but actual teachers are beyond important.

I am a nanny and I manage the online schooling. The middle schooler is doing very well and only requires me to give reminders. The elementary age child requires all of my attention during this time. I am doing most of the work . Yes the work gets done but honestly no learning is going on.

Yes and no. It’s unreasonable in this day and age to expect every woman to stay home for the first year to five years of her children’s lives. Some women have the patience, personality and work ethic to do it, while others serve their children better by going back to work.

Why did you find it necessary to add that your nanny expects, as do you, to be paid for her experience, talent, and expertise?! If she is teaching them she should up her hourly fee by one-half!

I’m a nanny who is doing digital learning. It was rough in the beginning because even the teachers were learning how to do everything. Now that we’ve been doing it since March 16th it’s not bad. We have our routine and the teachers are available if we have any questions.
In all honestly I would prefer to do digital learning in fall vs subjecting the kids to the cdc guidelines

Yes it’s super easy and I love it!! I graduated high school.

Ours has a masters in education and experience as a teacher, but she's a complete pushover when dealing with my daughter, so it hasn't worked well having her deal with remote school, unfortunately.

I am a nanny currently managing online learning with two elementary age kids. The math shit is really scary. I hated it then and I hate it now so having to force it on my Nkids makes me want to shoot myself in the face. Have you seen these tessalation things or arrays or math sentences?? The K online classes are pretty funny if the kids get on before the teacher does. They are obviously happy to see each other in some strange way.

Are any nannies managing children's online schooling? We have a part-time nanny who is working, but this has not been part of her work - we try to get school work done before she arrives so her time with our daughter is just for fun activities. That said, as we look to the possibility of remote school again in the fall, we're evaluating whether it might be better to have nanny manage school. I'd love to hear whether others have tried this, and if so, how it's going.
