Sorry you're dealing with this OP. You sound like a good family to work for. Spread the word because someone will be looking for a great nanny and maybe you can help her out.

Make sure she files for unemployment. I know you feel bad, but you’re in a tough position as well.

I’m sure the nanny understands. But I echo the above and think it’s important your nanny sees your child for your child’s well being and the nanny’s.

And your nanny will be working within a week. It’s crazy how many families are looking for nannies.

Please don’t feel bad but do be kind and inclusive with your nanny.

We just laid off our nanny, and I feel horrible. My wife is now unemployed, and i am a single-family breadwinner.

She was truly amazing as a nanny.
