My fantastic employers gave me one as a signing bonus when I started. It is such a great gift for a nanny: you call dial 911 and see employers texts immediately. I never need to look at my phone at all while my charge is awake.

Seriously great gift.

Yep, I got one last Christmas as a gift along with my Christmas bonus. It means I’m immediately reachable for the parents, but I’m not on my phone.

Or, give cash and she can buy her own. Not everyone would want one. My husband has one and loves it. I have zero interest in one.

Agree. I was given one as.a Christmas gift and have never worn it. I prefer my gold watch with diamonds!

I love my Apple Watch! You can ditch your phone in your bag and anything important or an emergency can be handled with the watch in your wrist! It’s pretty great.

And a great gift for a nanny!

I agree with the post above... Find a nice restaurant that delivers and get it sent to her or a gift card for a nice massage for when this is all over

No crap, money and nice card.

My nanny family wanted to do something extra for me, so they found a very nice, local restaurant that is currently offering delivery, and had dinner for my husband and I delivered to our home. I thought that was a very nice gesture, and very appreciated as well.

OP here. Thanks so much for the suggestions! I should mention that my child is just 1.5 and does “art” once a week with nanny where he makes all gifts for family and her.

I like the jewelry and gift basket ideas!

You sound like a very wonderful employer.

I would likely have my child make her a homemade “Thank You” card.
And perhaps some baked goods such as cookies or cupcakes.

Or a token of self-treatment such as a body wash/lotion/fragrance mist gift set.

Who wants cookies or cupcakes or a homemade card from a kid. This is just more crap to throw away. Give her a gold locket with all your pics. It is meaningful and not just more junk.

No scented crap.

Something your child did (baked goods, card, picture) is good. A gift card to somewhere you know she likes is great. Jewelry should NOT be a present for an employee. Something you know she needs and will like (she wears cashmere gloves that are getting a little bare, getting a replacement pair is fine).

Our nanny has always been wonderful but during this lockdown, with DH and I both working from home, me going through intense morning sickness, and DC losing all planned activities and play groups, our lovely nanny has been extraordinary.

Cash bonus, of course, but we’d also like to give her a gift of appreciation.

Any ideas?
