I may be wrong - but if you are working part-time, then I don’t think your employers usually pay for days not worked.
I would love to be wrong here though.

Have a serious conversation and give them options
Like tell them what you’re willing or not willing to do, and about your pay. I asked my family very clearly when they asked me not to come in, will you pay me for these weeks that you’re asking me to stay home (I’m under the table too)? They said no.
I’m pretending I’ll go back there but you know what, I just can’t go back there, I’m totally disgusted how they would let me hanging like that. They’re still expecting me to come back whenever this is over. Selfish wealthy people
If you have some money saved, get away from them
One thing I learned In my 15 years of being a nanny
I have great resume references pictures
I can find a new job within 3 days
Unfortunately this will take longer
But learn that people need to respect you
If they don’t, look for a new job and keep saving money for emergencies like that
They don’t pay us legally, they’re saving tax unemployment money, even healthcare costs
And now they’re selfish to pay us at least a little bit of money to buy food for ourselves
The more I’ve been thinking about it these last 3 weeks, the more I’m disgusted lol

Nanny accepted a job that wasn't paying legally or employers took advantage of not having to pay legally? Not nanny's fault if she is in a situation where this was not up to her. The decent thing to do would be to provide at least some kind of pay- especially if they expect her to come back!! OP- next time make sure you negotiate to have paid sick and vacation which will give you at least a little leeway to tide you over in this kind of situation. If they are not willing to do this they are not good people. Wishing you luck.
