Subject: Parents still want me to come in, but I'm worried...
Well it’s a global pandemic, president said to stay at home. I think it doesn’t matter how many hours you work a week, you obviously work those hours because you need that set amount of money.
And the 2$ trillion stimulus bill also says part time workers should be paid their regular salary.
Small businesses can take interest free loans to pay their employees, no matter how many hours they work

Like tell them what you’re willing or not willing to do, and about your pay. I asked my family very clearly when they asked me not to come in, will you pay me for these weeks that you’re asking me to stay home (I’m under the table too)? They said no.
I’m pretending I’ll go back there but you know what, I just can’t go back there, I’m totally disgusted how they would let me hanging like that. They’re still expecting me to come back whenever this is over. Selfish wealthy people
If you have some money saved, get away from them
One thing I learned In my 15 years of being a nanny
I have great resume references pictures
I can find a new job within 3 days
Unfortunately this will take longer
But learn that people need to respect you
If they don’t, look for a new job and keep saving money for emergencies like that
They don’t pay us legally, they’re saving tax unemployment money, even healthcare costs
And now they’re selfish to pay us at least a little bit of money to buy food for ourselves
The more I’ve been thinking about it these last 3 weeks, the more I’m disgusted lol
Thank you for taking the time and kindess to type this out for me. Truly appreciate your advice.

OP here - me getting paid under the table was really only said as to the nature of the job, ie not being eligible for unemployment and such. I truly just posted this for feedback on how this current Covid situation fits with maybe others' handling, or how I might should handle it, like would you still come in? Do you think its worth risking this job for to not? I have told them as of yesterday that I was not comfortable coming in. Just wanted to bounce my circumstance off of some others in the nanny world thank you.

Nanny has a voice. If she wanted legal pay, she would’ve passed on the job.

Hello, I am paid under the table, and the family that I work for part time, is still asking that I come in. This makes me very nervous because of the increasing numbers, and shelter in place laws. There are now 3 adults working from home, sometimes with a 4th popping in, who is currently moving out of the basement, and 3 children in the house as well. The oldest child, has still been allowed to go to friends houses in the neighborhood. I love my job/family, but in complete honesty, I am uncomfortable being in the house now with so many people. I took one week off for quarentine, and got no pay. I feel They have expressed little concern for my safety as i have had to initiate all conversation about the virus and quarentine, and they have not offered to pay me at all if i want to take time because of all of this. Concerned about what action I should take and seeking advice. If you were me, what would you ?
