Dinner should be nice. Dinner and a movie may be too much a a first ask if she wants to keep things more professional.

Since nanny’s only contacts are her employers and her fiancé, sure.

I am in the same closed ranks thing with my employers too and did have dinner with them last weekend (the father is an amazing cook!) I am very close to them however and have hung out a few times before this. They have always included me in family gatherings. And I’ve had them over to my place.
I think it would be nice, OP. These are extraordinary times.

This nanny is coming to work every day.

The while point of social distancing is to not have parties

Nanny here. I’ve had brunch with my family before and it was nice. It wouldn’t hurt to ask

I think it’s nice to ask. I’ve had dinner with my employers many times.

I wouldn't. I like to keep things professional. You can be friends with her after your kids don't need a nanny and she's moved on.

pp. Also, I heard Italians were having tons of dinner parties when lockdown started. Look where they are now.

Yes. I’m a nanny only seeing my NF and they me. They’ve invited me over twice for dinner and a movie. It was fun!

My nanny is in her early 30s and lives with her fiance who is currently not working (he's a photographer, so there's no work right now). We (nanny and I) get along well and chat most days and I think she's happy with us / likes us but she's also professional enough I don't think I'd know if she was fine with the job but didn't like dh and me as people that much.
We're all isolating right now (she's not seeing anyone other than us, and same for us and her, and her fiance isn't interacting with anyone besides nanny) and we've chatted about how we're all bored of the monotony of it all.
I've thought about invited her and her fiance over for dinner/games on Saturday night after the kids are in bed since I like both of them a lot and we're the only people we can all hang out with. However I worry that she'd feel like she couldn't say no even if she didn't want to come over b/c there's no excuse of other plans.
So should I invite her and make it clear that its totally fine to say no, or keep this clearly a professional relationship and not try to have a friends relaitonship also.
