Ask your local gym
I’m still paying my gym my membership fee
They just sent an email saying they bought some kind of exercises programs you can do from home
So you can log in with your gyms account and do the exercises for free
I like the other ideas too
Ask her for her hobbies
Maybe I’d add buying a book for reading, crafts if she’s crafty, sewing or something lol
I’d ask her and see what she says
She might not like exercising

NP. Check with your LCC, ours sent this link https://ope.ed.gov/dapip/#/home to find accredited online classes.

Our AP it taking classes from MIT, Yale, and UCLA. The classes are free, and then they pay for the certificates, e.g.,: https://openlearning.mit.edu/courses-programs/mitx-courses-edx

Look into gyms and personal trainers. I’d don’t know about the other locations, but I got an email from Fitness Together Georgetown that they’re doing virtual slots, and the first three are free.

These online classes are free, they just pay for the certificate- so it’s pretty cheap and the stipend

Consider buying a Rosetta Stone subscription for a few months for the AP if there is a language she wants to learn, consider buying exercise equipment that has a virtual class function. If your AP likes gardening, buy some plants for her to tend to. If she like baking, her her some supplies. Whatever indoor hobbies she has - support then.

NP. Which exercise equipment has virtual class function? This is for myself as well lol

Peloton and similar

I’m just not sure any of that will help at this point. Hopefully she is in a group chat with the other au pairs in her group so she at least has that connection.

Our Au Pair has been with us for about a month. She was just starting to establish a social routine when this whole COVID19 mess happened. I want to do all I can to help make this as pleasant as possible. (We have already given a "we understand this situation is awful" pay bump). I'm looking for ideas for active online DC Area Au Pair Communities, online chat groups for practicing English that aren't full of creeps, maybe online community exercise classes, and any other things that will help her feel connected in this now isolating community.
