Sure, if working part-time is something they're interested in and can afford. When our kids started full-time school we kept our nanny on with her previous hours because we understood that she couldn't just take a pay cut and go to part-time work. So you may find someone who either doesn't need the money or has something in the mornings (I'm assuming you would never ask them to work a full day for school holidays or sick days or pick your kids up early for anything). But hopefully you understand why this is so hard to find.

Is there a way you could add an hour to the schedule each day? How many kids do you have? I would think if you could do 25 hours a week at a minimum of $22/hr, you could find someone reliable.

Are there nannies out there who would only want to work 1-5 every day? I'll be looking for someone like that this fall and am afraid there's going to be no one good who would want this arrangement.
Wondering if I should consider au pair instead... but having been burned by that i'm not that eager to try it again.
