Mayo being so cheap. Come on!!!! $30/hr for two. $50/hr for three.

You're absolutely nuts, PP. She will have more than enough nanny candidates offering the rate she suggested. $30 for two?? No way.

Put it out there and see what candidates you get. I’m sure you will find someone.

I would ask your local listserve. Honestly, part time hours in a share are tough. I’m a MB and have had another family try this in our share temporarily and it is very tough for the nanny. And it involves establishing two different rates per family so we could ensure she was appropriately paid. I would aim to have both families pay for 40 hours a week. On the Hill our two infant share was $23/hour with 5 hours at time and a half. Stipend for health insurance. Vacation, sick, and federal holidays. Plus 1-2 weeks pay holiday bonus. Plus payroll services to get taxes rate.

We now have a 3 kid share but the kids are different ages (3, 1, 5 months). The 3 year old attends preschool half days 3 days a week so she doesn’t have him as often (And does not pick him up or drop him off) but we pay $29/Hour because of the uniqueness of the situation. He will be out of the share in the fall. I think three babies would be too difficult and maybe you’d find someone but you’d have to be very generous with salary plus it’d be hard to get the kids out because there are few triplet stroller options.

$30/hr. A lot of work.

Giving one adult three babies is negligent. I helped my best friend with her triplet babies. Unrelated babies are a zillion times more difficult.

Yes and you need to ask the nanny what rate they charge.

OP here - it would actually just be 1 infant for 4 months, and the second one would join after that. With the first one, we're looking at 25 hr/week, for the 2nd it would be closer to 40 hr/week for them both.

So I'd like to start a nanny at one price for the 1, and then boost it for the 2nd one.

Thank you for any ideas you all have!

How many hours per week?
Minimum $20/hr total.

What would be a reasonable amount per hour to pay a nanny to watch 2 infants? One will be 3 months, the other will be 5 months. We live in NW, and we're looking for someone with experience who speaks English and has their own car. This for a nanny share.

Thanks!
