We always get a new phone number for a new au pair. It doesn't cost much and makes everyone's life easier.

We had this problem this year. Last au pair was great, but took weeks and multiple asks to delete her uber account so new au pair could use the number. No other real problems with recycling the number for past several years.

I was give the AP phone when AP rematched quickly. She never canceled her gym membership, so I got calls weekly for three months (they wouldn’t let me cancel it, and I had no contact info for her). I couldn’t use Uber or Lyft. And I had to create a new account at Harris teeter because something locked it up every time.

As long as your AP cuts off all memberships and either gives you passwords or deletes accounts, it should be fine. Otherwise, please get a new number!

I would you don't know who former AP gave her phone number to and you wouldn't want new AP to be harassed by AP's former hook ups or whatever.

Not really but it’s certainly better. Because old au pair had her phone number to her Uber account, etc.
