An 8yo is capable of putting LEGO together by himself. Same with reading to himself. And I’d never suggest that you ask a nanny to play a violent game, but if he can play himself, fine.
So, just look for a sitter who will supervise and let him do his own thing. You never know, once they get to know each other, they might come up with something. But it’s only 2 hours each week, so don’t expect too much.
Besides, doesn’t he have homework? Surely that should be done first?
