Then cancel. They may not have flexible work hours so you flexing your hours may not work for them.

I understand both your situation and their situation. I understand them being upset as they were counting on you.

I wouldn’t plan on being asked to work for them again however.

If it’s an emergency, it is what it is. Cancel as soon as you know.

You need to cancel now so they have time to find a replacement. It is really crummy to do it last minute but if you do, do it now. How is this even a question?

Super crappy to cancel for those days and so late but do it ASAP. Later only makes it harder.
