Anonymous wrote:I know this post is old and you already did it but it sucks to tell someone who planned to work, you can take the unpaid day off or come in but I don’t really need you. The better strategy would be to say nothing, have her come in and do a few hours work (you run errands, go to the gym, spa..) and then send her home early with full pay. Everyone likes to get to leave early, you get time with your kid. And you don’t put her in an awkward place. Or just pay her and let her have time off.
