Subject: What are you doing over Christmas week?
DH and will be working on Monday, 12/23, as well as a half-day on 12/26. Our nanny will be working those days, as well. The rest will be off.

Oh, please - stop. You’re embarrassing yourself. If the family decides to go away, the nanny is paid. The other posters may well have nannies using their vacation or PTO.
I’m sure this is a shock in your world, but lots of parents actually want to spend time alone with their children when they are off work.

Let parents have to work or take PTO. If they give nanny leave, they are taking PTO, hiring someone else or relative. We get two weeks off. That is it.

She will be off from 3pm Friday 12/20 until morning of 1/2. Between arranging my days off (I make my own schedule), the holidays, and my parents, we can easily provide coverage for the week.

Yes. Our nanny gets the full week off (paid, of course) plus January 1st. We offered her the 31st off but she said she’d miss DS too much.
