Employer pays for al travel, lodging, food and required entrance fees during the trip; entrance fees during my off time are on me. Normal rate for all working hours (including time on the plane, bc if I’m sitting anywhere near the kids, I’m the one entertaining them). Private room or full hourly pay for every hour if sharing with child(ren). $30 maximum per meal, unless going with kids/family to a more expensive restaurant, then my pricing is similar to my employer. Frequently, I’m with the kids on the plane and my employer is elsewhere (or on another flight), and that actually makes it easier for kids and me.

+1. My travel rate never benefits me. I have my charge with me 24/7, giving bottles in the middle of the night, for $400 a day which breaks down to $16 and change an hour - no overtime. Plus I’m away from home and have to board my dog.

Next job I am getting a contract with my regular hourly wage plus overtime after nine hours each day including overnight.

A travel rate doesn’t always benefit the nanny. If the nanny is sharing a room with the charges and in charge (more or less) for the full 24 hours, a travel rate benefits the parents.

Agree that a travel rate isn't given. However, it's also not a given that the nanny will travel so you need to make it worthwhile or hire a local sitter at your destination.

I didn’t do this in my last job but in my new job I also negotiated set hours off (I used to share a room with my charge) as well as the next day home as a paid day off. I got burned out in my last job caring for my charge 24/7 with no breaks from her. I won’t do that again.

You also want to negotiate a separate bathroom for just you and your charge if sharing a house or cabin.

I didn’t do this in my last job but in my new job I also negotiated set hours off (I used to share a room with my charge) as well as the next day home as a paid day off. I got burned out in my last job caring for my charge 24/7 with no breaks from her. I won’t do that again.

Just their hourly rate. We always give a bonus of a couple hundred to a thousand, depending on how many days, how difficult things were, etc.
