They would also pay for your plane ticket, driving services (if needed) as well as pay for you to do things w/the children.
For example if you went to Disney w/them, they should definitely pay for your pass to get in.![]()
It’s definitely not a given to pay a travel rate. The parents paying for flight, meals and hotel room, that is expected.

I didn’t do this in my last job but in my new job I also negotiated set hours off (I used to share a room with my charge) as well as the next day home as a paid day off. I got burned out in my last job caring for my charge 24/7 with no breaks from her. I won’t do that again.
