Depends on interest. We also did cash as the big gift and then smaller gifts for stocking and to open. For my au Pair who was more interested in beauty stuff and the gym I did face masks, a workout T-shirt and a gift certificate to a nail salon. For my more outdoorsy au Pair a book on great hikes in the dc area, Harry Potter key chain (loved HP), another book I thought she’d like and a dc T-shirt to remember her time here.
