I've heard from my AP that some of her friends are working at Toro Toro. Anyone know anything about this? She said the manager is aware he/she is hiring people without the proper work authorization.

Our newish ap has been having a friend over most weekends and they go out until @5-6am and then finally come home. I have no idea what they’re doing until that hour. Should I be concerned she’s working in a club?

Did any of your AP's do it? The club is apparently planning on paying them by check and knows they are au pairs. I'm surprised it isn't under the table.

I guess op isn’t willing to solve the problem.

OP is dealing with this problem personally and is not really interested in contacting ICE. I suspect au pairs may not be the only ones working there illegally and I'm not interested in getting anyone else in trouble.

I have no idea if the other au pairs involved have permission from their host families or not. It's not really my business.

Just name the club already.

We host male APs and they recruit both sexes. It is a cool “international” thing for the clubs. The males are lbrought in to promote the club, flirt with Americans and get other aps to show up.
Our males (obviously) know tons of female aps so typically they show up in large groups and (if attractive enough) drink for free in the vip rooms.

What do you mean by that?

This, its very common to recruit the foreign women and have them "work." They also recruit those overstaying visas and others that aren't able to work legally.

Why would you need a horror stories to scare her away. Simply tell her if you find out she is working a side job you will rematch.

Apparently there is a club in DC that had recently hired a bunch of au pairs to work as shot girls (brand ambassadors). The owner also knows these are au pairs and it is against their visa rules.

Has anyone had an au pair work like this? When did you find out? Any visa horror stories I can use to scare my au pair away?
