Thank you all.
She said she will be spending Thanksgiving with another boy friend of her if I can care for her son on that day. Emmm

“I had plans for Thanksgiving, and my contract says that Thanksgiving is a paid day off. If you are willing to pay double time for me to work at your home, I will be available from x to y time. If I can’t leave on time, my hourly rate will jump to triple. That is in addition to my contracted holiday pay.”
If I’m supposed to have Thanksgiving off paid, I’d remind that I’m still getting normal pay for that. Then, I’d double my rate for whatever hours I agreed to work, and it’d be triple pay if my employer wasn’t back on time.
For the sake of clarity, assume 8-6 and $20/hour. I would expect $200 for the day, as my contracted holiday pay. My double rate would be $40/hour, triple would be $60/hour. If I agreed to be there 8-noon and my employer was on time, I’d be paid $40*4hours=$160+$200=$360 for the day. If my employer was two hours later, it would be $60*2 hours=$120+$360=$480 for the day.
