Shameful how many parents have such disregard for their children.

I worked for a family like this. I spent my days cleaning because I couldn’t even sit down .

I would tell the agency that I wont go back because place is too filthy and also call CPS because that's unsafe living environment for the kids.

I wouldn't say anything to her until you've spoken to the agency. Explain that the home was completely filthy and dirty, to the point that you don't feel that it is a suitable working environment, and it made you feel uncomfortable being there, and aren't willing to go back. The agency should make sure that you get paid, communicate with the family, and they can decide whether they want to try to line up another nanny for them or drop them as a client.

I can’t work in filthy homes. I consider it an unsafe work environment and will give them 24 hour notice that it’s not working out.

Trust me, this is not the job for you. I have worked for messy parents before and it was a constant irritant.

They also are trying to find the right fit for a permanent nanny. The job entails loading and unloading the dw and the kids laundry. I don’t even want to touch the sink!

I’m in between jobs and my agency sent me a temp position. I was supposed to start yesterday at 1pm but the Mb was lagging on responding back to the agency so it changed to today at 2:30 and Friday 2:30-7:30. I felt it was a red flag and maybe a sign of an organization issue but this is beyond me...

I’m keeping in mind the family just moved into their home 2 months ago but this house is disgusting. It’s not moving stuff. The sofa is covered in stains, even the throw pillows, crumbs all over the floors and dining table. I went to wash my hands in kitchen and bowls from the morning with milk and cereal stuck in them. Dog hair is EVERYWHERE. The vacuum in the corner is even full and covered in dust. The toilet has poop marks all inside. Dirty laundry is covering the 10 year olds BR floor. Junk is all over and I barely want to breathe deeply.

I’m supposed to come again tomorrow and she asked if I will do a full day Monday. I’ve never had this situation occur where cleanliness is my issue and I’m not sure what to say to my agency? How much do you tell them or just say “not a good fit” ? I just can’t imagine being here all day having to eat here. I wouldn’t even want to prep food for the kids.
