HFs need to not be so quick to judge other HFs when you are getting second hand information, especially when it is coming from not one, but two people that English is a second language.
Of course, it is possible that she understood her HF correctly and they are requiring her to get one and pay for it, and that would be wrong and she has ever right to stand up for herself and say no.
