The rematch pool is really small right now, so as long as there is no safety related issue, and she's not on her 3rd host family, she should find a new host family.

We have done it many times.
They will let her stay for as long as you can house her pretty much. At least with ccap.
One of our aps extended with another family and ended up in rematch. We had her for a month with our new ap (who was male); obviously they each had their own room. When it was a friend of ap they stayed in same room for a week or two until they found a new family.

When our first au pair (cc) wanted to extend with a new family but hadn’t found one by her last day, the agency only gave her one additional 24 hours to try to match. She did, in desperation, and then rematched a week later. We allowed her to stay the extra day (and would’ve let her stay longer but the agency refused).

My understanding is that an au pair in rematch could stay a bit longer if she has housing, But that is something you could ask your LCC. This is a great time for her to find a family, as the summer arrivals that didn’t work out are in rematch. If this AP gets a nice recommendation from the agency, she will be matched with a new family within a few days.

OP, my original question was if she will get an extension if she could find a place to stay? anyone knows?

NP here and yes, we got a spectacular rematch. Her former HF broke the program rules in terms of hours and duties. I think they confused an AP with an indentured servant. It really amazes me what some of these families pull off.

I doubt you know the full story. There might be a reason why host families won't touch her and why the agency is giving her less time to match.

There are quite a few host families looking for an in country au pair. If this AP is halfway decent without a poisonous back story, she'll get snapped up quick.

How well do you know her? Whose sides of the rematch story have you heard?
We have only had our ap a little over a week and are already having concerns, so you never know- could easily be people looking for a rematch ap.

My AP's friend is in rematch. I don't know the details of what happened but it sounds more like an incompatibility issue.
Unfortunately because of the timing, she only has one week left to find a family. It is pretty though now since most families just welcomed their AP and give it a little bit more time before rematching. I am thinking about hosting her for 2 weeks if she can't find a family within a week.
I really feel sad that she might have to go home after investing that much into the program. Is they anything I should be careful about before suggesting to hosting her? will hosting her helps the agency extends her stay (she is with CC)? Also can she switch agency while in the US? we are from different agencies and I think my agency have more families looking.
