I am this PP. I was wrong and I stand corrected. I was an au pair in 1992 and i see that it changed since then.

This is ridiculous. We paid the taxes (taxes which she should not have to pay imo, given that she started in september so had only made @3k), and have now spent a ton of time dealing with the IRS incompetence. Our ap leaves this week and our new one arrives Friday. I think I will discuss with our lcc whether she will actually need to pay taxes, since clearly the irs isn’t filing them correctly.


This is annoying, OP. Sorry. APs have to pay taxes. Hopefully, you can get hold of someone at the IRS to resolve the issue.

Not true. Ask your agency. They have to pay taxes on the money earned, regardless of what it’s called.
