Depends on what you consider normal. It would turn me off and if you installed them at a later date I would be making moves to get another position.

In the DC area it is not normal. Been a nanny for the past 15years and have not seen a nanny cam.

I am a good nanny and want cameras in the home. I want my employers to see how hard I work. However, I am in Los Angeles and have never even been to a home where there weren’t cameras so it wouldn’t turn off any good nannies here. I don’t know about DC.

PP you’re referring to. It’s more remembering to switch them rather than the act of doing so.

^^ Not really a huge hassle for us.
We just do everything w/a tap or two onscreen with our iPhones.

We don’t have to manually turn the actual cameras off or on.

We have cameras, but I never look at them to check on our nanny. They’re there for the cleaners, occasional sitters, repair people, that is, people we don’t know as well so likewise can’t trust as much, and for when we’re not at home. They are on all the time because it’s a hassle to switch them off then on again when we feel like we need them.

Why are you working with babies when you have diarrhea?! And if you have it often enough to be concerned about your time in the bathroom while working, you need to see a gastroenterologist.

I encourage my employers to put in cameras and still manage to relax when the kids are napping. You’re being silly, PP. You’re at work and not in your own home.

I’ve never worked for a family that didn’t have cameras and I still have a rundown of our day. I assume the parents aren’t watching constantly if at all.

If you agreed and you were ok since the beginning; having cameras watching you all the time; it's simple. It's nice that you got used to it already and you feel confortable; in not having privacy to relax a little bit in your break, while eatting your lunch, going to the bathroom so many times when you have diarrea, wipe your watery running nose lot of times when you have a cold or allergies. This being said; obviously bcs of the cameras the Parents will know how was everything during the day. And this means everything. Here's an example: On Thursday I checked in on the cameras twice - once they were outside and once they were snuggling on the couch reading.

So I don't know how the entire day went, or if my child was well behaved throughout the day.

Maybe they truly just want to know how your day was? I have cameras but I don't sit and watch them all day (I am at work, working). I always ask my nanny how her day was.
