I nannied for nearly 9 years and love the kids like my own and they didn’t give me a post-card so forget about any gift.
And I was told I was amazing nanny who took care them in sickness and health, snow days and some holidays.

At least two weeks' pay, a card, a thoughtful gift.

Any thoughtful gift is great. But I agree with the above comments about the most important gift being a note of gratitude and appreciation.

I am a nanny and I disagree with this. I always want a personal, thoughtful gift - not just have money thrown at me. Even more than money is a note of appreciation and recognition. I loved your child and was the best possible nanny that I could have been. Throwing money at me feels crass. Just my opinion.

I assume she is leaving on her own so severance is not necessary.

Nanny of 3.5 years is leaving us next week. Is it standard to give some kind of going away present, and if so, is it an item or do people typically do a cash bonus type gift?
